JD for Software Estimator –

A Software Estimator is responsible for analyzing project requirements and providing

accurate cost and time estimates for software development projects.

Educational Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Sometimes, relevant experience can substitute for formal education.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).

• Knowledge of programming languages and software architecture to understand technical complexity.

• Understanding of Software Lines of Code (SLOC)

• Ability to analyze technical specifications, requirements, and design documents.

• Statistical Analysis.

• Business and Manufacturing Acumen.

Experience:

• Prior experience in software estimation preferred

• Project Management Skills

• Ask questions and put together a SOW, documents ground rules and assumptions.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, engineers and business analysts.

• Background in handling multiple projects and delivering estimates under tight deadlines.

• Ability to evaluate supplier proposals for software develo

pment and assess reasonability
