Senior GCP Cloud Architect – SAP (AMS Engagement)

Role Overview

• Lead and govern SAP environments hosted on GCP within an AMS environment.

• Drive system stability, performance optimization, automation, security, and cost efficiency.

• Serve as the primary architecture contact for SAP AMS operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee SAP architecture governance and ensure SLA/KPI compliance.

• Provide L3/L4 support, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and operational improvements.

• Manage SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, and BTP environments, including upgrades, refreshes, and maintenance.

• Administer and optimize GCP infrastructure, networking, storage, backups, monitoring, and cost management.

• Drive SAP HANA performance tuning, HA/DR readiness, backup, and business continuity planning.

• Lead ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and release management processes.

• Implement automation using Terraform and scripting to improve operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with security, access management, encryption, and audit requirements.

• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors while conducting regular service reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–15 years of IT experience with 5+ years in GCP cloud architecture.

• Strong SAP BASIS, SAP Architecture, SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, and SAP HANA expertise.

• Experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, storage, backup, monitoring, and logging.

• Knowledge of HA/DR, ITIL processes, ServiceNow/Remedy, and AMS support models.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Python, or Shell scripting.

• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect, SAP BASIS/HANA, or ITIL certifications.

• Experience with RISE with SAP on GCP, FinOps, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
