JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) professional with strong Japanese and English communication skills? Join a global finance team where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality Accounts Payable operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with global financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and validate Purchase Order (PO), Non-PO, contract-based, prepayment, and down payment invoices.
• Review supplier open items and support timely payment processing.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances.
• Investigate and reverse failed or rejected payments.
• Execute month-end closing activities, including purchasing accruals and AP reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and KPI reports.
• Reconcile AP balance sheet accounts, including GR/IR, Goods in Transit (GIT), and suspense accounts.
• Respond promptly to supplier and internal stakeholder queries while meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
• Support internal, statutory, and compliance audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Troubleshoot Accounts Payable process and system issues, working closely with IT and Automation teams.
• Participate in ERP implementation, system integration, testing, and finance transformation projects.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Maintain process documentation in accordance with ICFR, company policies, and local statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or MIA are an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable or transactional accounting experience.
• Experience working in a performance-driven Shared Services, BPO, or multinational environment is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP/Accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Language Requirements

• Business-level proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory.
• Good command of English for business communication.
