Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Analyst with strong Japanese and English communication skills to join our finance team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Accounts Payable operations, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and invoice processing while ensuring compliance with financial policies and service-level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and verify Accounts Payable documents, invoices, and supporting documents.

• Validate and process Purchase Order (PO), non-PO, contract-based invoices, prepayments, and down payments.

• Review supplier open items before payment processing.

• Process supplier and intercompany invoices accurately within defined KPIs.

• Ensure timely supplier and intercompany payments as per agreed payment terms.

• Handle internal and external vendor queries and resolve them within agreed timelines.

• Investigate and reverse unsuccessful payments.

• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and clear outstanding items.

• Execute month-end closing activities, including purchasing accruals.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and KPI reports.

• Reconcile AP balance sheet accounts and clear aged balances.

• Participate in statutory and compliance audits.

• Troubleshoot Accounts Payable workflow and system-related issues.

• Support automation initiatives, system integration, testing, and process improvement projects.

• Maintain process documentation in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

• Provide guidance and process training to new team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent.

• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or MIA are an added advantage.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Transactional Accounting.

• Experience working in a performance-driven Shared Services/BPO environment is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP/Accounting systems.

• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.

Language Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in Japanese for business purposes.
