Job Summary

We are looking for a Japanese Bilingual Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance & Accounting Shared Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), or General Accounting, along with business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end accounts payable processes, supporting Japan-based vendors, and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of vendor invoices and employee expense reports accurately using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

• Perform 3-way matching of Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Receipts, and Invoices.

• Prepare and execute weekly and monthly payment runs.

• Support month-end closing activities, including AP accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable tax regulations.

• Act as the primary point of contact for Japan-based vendors.

• Resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries in Japanese and English.

• Collaborate with Procurement and Receiving teams to resolve billing concerns.

• Translate AP-related documents and communications between Japanese and English when required.

Qualifications

• Filipino candidates (Native and Non-Native Japanese speakers are welcome to apply).

• Business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or N2 preferred; strong N3 candidates may also be considered).

• Business-level proficiency in English.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 1–3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), or General Accounting.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).

• Knowledge of Japanese business etiquette and corporate communication.

• Experience in a Shared Services Center (SSC) or BPO environment is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Japanese Consumption Tax (JCT) and withholding tax rules is a plus.
