Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Team Lead / Operations Manager to manage supply chain operations, team performance, client relationships, and day-to-day process delivery. The role will focus on Supply Chain Management (SCM), Sourcing & Procurement, supplier/customer management, operational performance, quality, exception handling, risk management, and contract administration.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills, experience managing teams and stakeholders, and the ability to ensure operational, functional, and business objectives are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Operations

• Manage day-to-day Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities with a focus on Sourcing & Procurement.

• Monitor operational performance, delivery, quality, and exceptions to ensure business objectives are met.

• Identify potential operational risks and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions.

• Ensure procurement activities are executed in accordance with defined processes and contractual requirements.

• Monitor workflow and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.

• Support continuous improvement of supply chain and procurement processes.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals.

• Motivate team members and drive performance against defined operational targets.

• Assess employee performance and provide appropriate coaching and feedback.

• Channelize workflow and allocate activities effectively across the team.

• Conduct process training and support knowledge development.

• Ensure team members understand process requirements, quality standards, and business objectives.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Manage client relationships and maintain strong professional rapport with stakeholders.

• Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers and customers.

• Understand client requirements and ensure timely delivery of agreed services.

• Monitor client expectations, operational performance, and service quality.

• Handle escalations and coordinate timely resolution of business and operational issues.

Procurement & Contract Administration

• Support and monitor contract administration activities related to day-to-day procurement operations.

• Ensure procurement activities meet operational, functional, and business objectives defined under the contract.

• Monitor supplier and customer interactions to support effective and profitable business outcomes.

• Ensure procurement activities are delivered within agreed timelines and quality requirements.

Performance, Quality & Risk Management

• Conduct regular internal performance reviews with team members and leadership.

• Monitor delivery, quality, productivity, and exception handling.

• Identify potential risks and ensure appropriate escalation and mitigation.

• Track operational issues and support root-cause identification and resolution.

• Maintain focus on service quality, process compliance, and operational efficiency.

Escalation & Resolution

• Act as an escalation point for complex operational and client-related issues.

• Investigate issues and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.

• Ensure escalations are documented, tracked, and closed within agreed timelines.

• Communicate status and resolution updates to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 4–8 years of overall experience with strong experience in Supply Chain Management.

• Ideally 5–7+ years of experience working within SCM.

• Experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing & Procurement.

• Experience managing domestic and international suppliers and customers.

• Experience in team handling, people management, and operational leadership.

• Strong understanding of delivery, quality, exception handling, and operational performance.

• Experience in contract administration and procurement activities.

• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to identify and manage potential operational risks.

• Strong escalation and resolution management experience.

Education

• Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10 + 2 + 3).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in B.Com, BMS, BBA, MBA, or a related field is preferred.
