Project: Healthcare Interpretation Support

Employment Type: Renewable Contract (6 months + 12 months)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, Permanent Night Shift

Role Overview

We are seeking fluent Cantonese-English speakers to provide real-time over-the-phone interpretation services within the healthcare sector. The role involves facilitating accurate communication between US-based healthcare professionals and Cantonese-speaking patients while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and neutrality.

Key Responsibilities​

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between Cantonese and English speakers during live calls.
  
• Support healthcare-related conversations involving doctors, medical staff, patients, insurance providers, and emergency situations.
  
• Maintain meaning-for-meaning interpretation without adding, omitting, or altering information.
  
• Follow confidentiality, compliance, and interpreter ethics guidelines.
  
• Handle sensitive, urgent, and emotionally challenging conversations professionally.
  
• Participate in training, quality reviews, coaching sessions, and performance improvement activities.
  
• Maintain strong attendance, schedule adherence, and productivity while working remotely.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English (B2+/C1 level preferred).
  
• Strong listening, comprehension, communication, and memory retention skills.
  
• Ability to accurately interpret different accents, tones, and speaking styles.
  
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, neutrality, and cultural awareness.
  
• Ability to work independently from home and manage night-shift schedules.
  
• High School, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree holders are eligible.
  
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 5 years of experience may apply.
  

Preferred Experience

• Interpretation or translation services.
  
• Healthcare or medical interpretation.
  
• Customer service, BPO, contact center, or voice support operations.
  
• Journalism, media, or other communication-related roles.

Compensation & Benefits

• Basic Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 4,500.
  
• Negotiable up to RM 5,000 based on qualifications and experience.
  
• Wi-Fi Allowance: RM 150/month.
  
• Night Shift Allowance: RM 25/night (approximately RM 550/month).
  
• Performance-based incentives.
  
• Estimated total monthly earnings: RM 5,000+.
  

Work Environment

This is a fully remote role requiring a stable internet connection, a quiet and private workspace, and the ability to manage sensitive healthcare conversations while maintaining focus and professionalism.
